Understanding Colombian Men?

Hi, I'm a 23yr old female dating an older Colombian male (15yrs senior) and I'm completely in love with him, However I know nothing about the culture of Colombians so what I would like to know is if there are any Colombian people who wouldn't mind explaining to me the proper male to female roles so I know what to expect from him and what's expected of me, especially as far as meeting his mother any tips would be appreciated, I don't mean to offend anyone by asking this but I've heard that in Colombia Black People are frowned upon being an African American women it concerns me just a bit if there's any truth to that taboo can u let me know as well. I just don't want to step on anyone's toes.
