Why did Rudy accept Pat Robertson's support?

The man agreed with the notion that gays, s, pro-choicers, etc. were to blame for 9/11. HOWEVER, Rudy ripped Ron Paul a new one when Ron said that America's foreign policy was to blame. Rudy felt that Ron said it was the American people's fault and got angry, but isn't that something Pat agrees with? I know Ron Paul feels it was due to our foreign policy (as does the CIA and the 9/11 commission report). So why, if one feels that Americans themselves had nothing to do with 9/11 (it was because we are "rich and free"), would he accept the support of someone who feels certain Americans are to blame? The life of a neocon is so complicated.....
